Short answer: yes. Both the Restrict WordPress plugin (Restrict for WordPress) and Restrict for Elementor are WordPress plugins, and therefore they can only work on WordPress-based websites. This page explains what that means in practice and what each plugin needs to run.
What “WordPress only” means
If your site is built on WordPress, you’re good to go — Restrict works with basically any well-coded WordPress theme, and multisite networks are supported too (each subsite counts as one site toward your license, while an unlimited license covers a whole network). If your site runs on another platform such as a static site generator or a different CMS, the plugins cannot be installed there.
Requirements for each plugin
- Restrict for WordPress only needs WordPress itself. It restricts pages, posts, custom post types, categories, menu items, widgets and parts of content via shortcodes, and integrates with WooCommerce, Easy Digital Downloads and Tickera when those plugins are present.
- Restrict for Elementor additionally relies on the Elementor page builder. Install it on a site where Elementor is active and you can control the visibility of Elementor sections, columns and widgets.
